Management of Distribution / Marketing Channels (Online Live Training & In-Class Programme)
 Overview
Marketing or Distribution Channels are viewed as inter-organisational systems of companies whose purpose is to enable the transfer of goods and services to end-users in an orderly way from production to consumption. They enhance time, place, and possession utilities and are key elements of companies' marketing strategies; they help companies to expand their geographical reach and increase their revenues. Therefore, the management of marketing or distribution channels is a critical business function for companies to compete in today’s global business environment. The choice of the right channels involves numerous activities and numerous actors depending upon their structure. They include, among others channel planning and implementation, the choice of the most appropriate channel strategies, the definition of the roles that the different entities will play and above all the definition of who controls them.
The main objective of this Course is to develop a practical understanding of marketing channels. Participants will be able to learn about channel elements, how to design the distribution channel, the issues that need to consider when implementing distribution channels, and how to manage them. Attention will be drawn to both international marketing channels and marketing channels for services. At the end of this Course, Participants will be able to:
* Understand marketing channels concepts, principles, and terminology;
* Identify various types of distribution channels and channel intermediaries;
* Understand the practices involved in the design and implementation of marketing channels;
* Understand the management of distribution channels;
* Analyse marketing channels and critically evaluate marketing channels  performance;
* Think about distribution channels design, management, cases, and problems; and
* Apply this knowledge to improve companies distribution channels to become more competitive.

 Target Audience
The Course targets all Players and people interested in Maritime Economics and related issues. This target audience includes University Students, Importers / Exporters, Shippers, Shipping Companies, Vessel Operators, Shipping Agents, Freight Forwarders, Supply Chain Managers, 3PLs, Port Authorities, Port Terminal Operators, International and/or Intermodal Transport Companies, Maritime Lawyers, Consultants, and other parties having a specific interest in the subject matter.

 Course Delivery
This Course can be delivered entirely either in an online live training environment or in a classroom environment. Whenever training is delivered in a classroom environment, Participants will be informed about the location where the Course takes place. Whenever training is delivered online, Participants will be informed about which platform is going to be used.
When the Course Registration is fully completed, each Participant will receive the instructions to access the Course. Course to be delivered in English.

 Documentation and/or Reading Materials 
Course Documentation and/or Reading Materials will be made available to Participants.
In the case of in-class training, Participants will receive the Documentation and/or Reading Materials in electronic format.
In the case of online training, Participants will receive the Documentation and/or Reading Materials either by email or by the eLearning platform. Notes for each module are often downloadable, and Participants can save them for their completing their studies.
Participants are requested to check their email regularly.
A list of recommended reading will be provided at the beginning of each Course. This recommended reading is not included in the Course Fee.

 Duration and Timetable
The Course has a duration of 40 hours.
Participants are required to attend the online classes, or the classes delivered in a classroom context as per the daily and weekly schedule foreseen for the Course. Information regarding the Course Dates (Start and End Dates), as well as the daily and weekly hours’ distribution foreseen for the Course, will be announced at the Training Plan & Calendar webpage. It will be necessary that Participants allocate additional time to carry out their studies and to perform the allocated tasks within the requested timeframes.

 Participation Conditions
For online training, the number of Participants is 8, although a maximum of 10 may be considered.
For training in a classroom context, the minimum number of Participants is 10.
The payment of the Course Fee can be made by 1) BANK TRANSFER, 2) PayPAL or 3) WESTERN UNION. Please note that charges apply for each of the above Payment Methods and are not included in the Course Fee. The final amount to be transferred by using any of these methods is the total amount calculated (Course Fee + Applied Charges). In case of Cancellation, the following conditions apply:

* Participants have the right to cancel their registration. To cancel the registration, send us an email indicating the Participant's name and the Course.

* For written Cancellations made until the Cancellation Deadline, Participants will receive a full refund of any payment made. However, a handling fee of 120 € will be charged.
* For written Cancellations made after the Cancellation Deadline, a penalty of 50% of the Course Price applies to compensate for damages incurred from last minutes dropouts.

Participants must have an attendance equal to or above 90% of the Course (this condition applies to both in-class and online class training). For additional information, please click here.

 Certificate
At the end of the Course, Participants will be entitled to a Course Participation Certificate as long as they have:
* Fulfilled all registration procedures;
* An attendance equal to or above 90% of the Course (this condition applies to both in-class and online class training);
* Carried out the allocated tasks given that they are an integral part of the Course (this condition applies to everyone and both in-class and online class training).
