Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Online Live Training & In-Class Programme)
 Overview
The environment in which companies operate requires that they match their product supply with their customer demand. As businesses grow and expand, companies become more dependent upon effective and efficient supply chains, which includes sophisticated logistics strategies. The 7Rs philosophy, "getting the right product, in the right quantity, in the right condition, delivered to the right customer at the right place, at the right time and the right cost", has become the driver to improve the overall companies' performance. The emergence of e-commerce and e-business are putting additional pressure on companies that must manage different distribution channels. Moreover, the importance of providing effective and efficient logistics support becomes even more critical as companies need to decide which logistics strategies to implement to decide about their strategic logistics. Logistics helps i) to plan and coordinate both the movements of products and information timely, safely, and effectively as possible and ii) to reduce costs. Typical logistic activities on which companies devise their logistics strategies include transport, inventory, order processing, purchasing, warehousing, material handling, packaging, customer service standards.
The main objective of this Course is to provide Participants with the knowledge and competencies to create effective and efficient intra- and inter-organisational supply chains at national, international, and global levels. Participants will be able to understand the supply chain's structure complexity and dynamic behaviour and identify the adequate strategies and practices to foster supply chains' competitiveness. At the end of this Course, Participants will be able to:
* Identify the different logistics components;
* Understand the role of logistics and supply chain management in companies' performance;
* Understand the importance of good logistics planning;
* Learn about each logistics component;
* Understand the importance of the location of facilities when defining the logistics flows;
* Understand in a systematic manner their companies supply chains functioning; and
* Apply this knowledge to improve companies logistics and supply chains to become more competitive.

 Target Audience
The Course targets all Players and people interested in Maritime Economics and related issues. This target audience includes University Students, Importers / Exporters, Shippers, Shipping Companies, Vessel Operators, Shipping Agents, Freight Forwarders, Supply Chain Managers, 3PLs, Port Authorities, Port Terminal Operators, International and/or Intermodal Transport Companies, Maritime Lawyers, Consultants, and other parties having a specific interest in the subject matter.

 Course Delivery
This Course can be delivered entirely either in an online live training environment or in a classroom environment. Whenever training is delivered in a classroom environment, Participants will be informed about the location where the Course takes place. Whenever training is delivered online, Participants will be informed about which platform is going to be used.
When the Course Registration is fully completed, each Participant will receive the instructions to access the Course. Course to be delivered in English.

 Documentation and/or Reading Materials 
Course Documentation and/or Reading Materials will be made available to Participants.
In the case of in-class training, Participants will receive the Documentation and/or Reading Materials in electronic format.
In the case of online training, Participants will receive the Documentation and/or Reading Materials either by email or by the eLearning platform. Notes for each module are often downloadable, and Participants can save them for their completing their studies.
Participants are requested to check their email regularly.
A list of recommended reading will be provided at the beginning of each Course. This recommended reading is not included in the Course Fee.

 Duration and Timetable
The Course has a duration of 56 hours.
Participants are required to attend the online classes, or the classes delivered in a classroom context as per the daily and weekly schedule foreseen for the Course. Information regarding the Course Dates (Start and End Dates), as well as the daily and weekly hours’ distribution foreseen for the Course, will be announced at the Training Plan & Calendar webpage. It will be necessary that Participants allocate additional time to carry out their studies and to perform the allocated tasks within the requested timeframes.

 Participation Conditions
For online training, the number of Participants is 8, although a maximum of 10 may be considered.
For training in a classroom context, the minimum number of Participants is 10.
The payment of the Course Fee can be made by 1) BANK TRANSFER, 2) PayPAL or 3) WESTERN UNION. Please note that charges apply for each of the above Payment Methods and are not included in the Course Fee. The final amount to be transferred by using any of these methods is the total amount calculated (Course Fee + Applied Charges). In case of Cancellation, the following conditions apply:

* Participants have the right to cancel their registration. To cancel the registration, send us an email indicating the Participant's name and the Course.

* For written Cancellations made until the Cancellation Deadline, Participants will receive a full refund of any payment made. However, a handling fee of 120 € will be charged.
* For written Cancellations made after the Cancellation Deadline, a penalty of 50% of the Course Price applies to compensate for damages incurred from last minutes dropouts.

Participants must have an attendance equal to or above 90% of the Course (this condition applies to both in-class and online class training). For additional information, please click here.

 Certificate
At the end of the Course, Participants will be entitled to a Course Participation Certificate as long as they have:
* Fulfilled all registration procedures;
* An attendance equal to or above 90% of the Course (this condition applies to both in-class and online class training);
* Carried out the allocated tasks given that they are an integral part of the Course (this condition applies to everyone and both in-class and online class training).
