| World of Shipping Portugal (WofSPortugal) enters 2026 with a renewed identity and a clearer purpose. What began in 2011 as an online platform dedicated to maritime economics has evolved into the Maritime Knowledge Centre: a specialist digital platform bringing together maritime resources, research, analysis, and professional insight. |
| In its early years, WofSPortugal addressed an important gap by providing accessible maritime information, reference resources, and structured directories. Over time, both the maritime sector and the information landscape changed. Today, professionals, academics, researchers, and students require more than isolated or static information. They need reliable resources presented within a structured environment that supports research, professional practice, critical thinking, and informed decision-making. |

| The resources previously available through separate libraries are now being brought together, reviewed, and reorganised within the Maritime Knowledge Centre.
